Our due diligence
Know your counterparty
Before a transaction progresses, we establish the identity, ownership and authority of every counterparty through know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) review. Depending on the transaction, we request:
CORPORATE RECORDSRegistration, good standing, registered address and operating presence
OWNERSHIP AND AUTHORITYDirectors, authorized representatives and ultimate beneficial owners
FINANCIALBanking information and, where appropriate, source of funds
COMMERCIALEvidence of the counterparty's stated role, such as supply contracts, mandates or allocations
We go beyond the documents supplied: corporate registries, domain history, professional profiles and independent sources are checked for consistency. The aim is to find inconsistencies before they become execution risks.
Sanctions compliance
Screening before execution
Energy and financial transactions can involve multiple jurisdictions, banks, vessels and intermediaries. Screening extends to companies, beneficial owners, individuals, financial institutions and vessels involved in execution. A transaction is declined or suspended where compliance requirements cannot be met.
Transaction review
From counterparty to transaction
A credible company does not make a transaction viable on its own, so we review both.
COMMERCIAL TERMSProduct · Specification · Quantity · Price · Delivery · Payment
CONTRACTBuyer and seller obligations · Title · Risk transfer · Conditions precedent
FINANCEPayment instruments · Financing requirements · Banks · Cash flows
EXECUTIONLogistics · Inspection · Documentation · Delivery
A transaction progresses only when its commercial, financial, contractual and operational elements align.
Governance and conduct
Responsibilities are allocated between executive leadership and operations, and material transactions receive commercial, operational and documentary review before execution. Compliance is part of execution, not a separate administrative step.
